10-10-2009 J.Biz In efforts to reinvigorate a slowly dying magazine industry, ESPN The Magazine has its first ever "Body" issue.
The issue has six different covers with Minnesota Viking tailback Adrian Peterson, Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard, triatholonist Sarah Reinertsen, mixed martial artist Gina Carano, and tennis star Serena Williams(above) posing nude, and its an all nude issue.
ESPN stated in a press release; "The issue honors athletes of diverse shapes, sizes, genders and races
within the boundaries of taste and frontiers of creativity upon which
ESPN The Magazine and ESPN have built their reputations. "It is a testament to the work the athletes do, the effort they exert
and the price they sometimes pay in reliance on their most important
asset – their bodies."
There will be eighty athletes also featured in the mag. Issue on shelves right now. Hopefully sex will sell as usual and we can keep paper publications just a bit longer.
