Review: "Funhouse"
Pink Is Personal But Keeps On Rocking
10-28-2008 J.Biz
It is obvious that Pink's latest album "Funhouse" available today is a very personal reflection of current events in her life. The lead track "So What" begs to ask the question, what happened to my husband? It is an upbeat and fun song as well as the first single. Once again in "I Don't Believe You" Pink reflects on vows of being together forever and how she doesn't believe it now. It is the most sincere song on "Funhouse" and you really feel Pink's emotions as a victim.

On "Please Don't Leave Me" on a guitar laced track Pink begins to see her part in the rift between her and her significant other. My favorite track is "Mean." In the chorus Pink says, "how did we get so mean...normally I'm so strong." I think it's a feeling shared by both parties of a failed relationship.

Although titled "Funhouse," there doesn't sound like much fun came of her break-up and divorce. There is good music on the album but it felt like the first time I saw Dawson and Joey part ways on "Dawson's Creek." I expected some sort of positive change rather than just simple revelation of pain. There is no resolve. "Funhouse" is less carnival and more "Heartbreak Hotel".
