08-31-2008 Peace world!! How you doin, this is Weirdest Robkast back for another
movie preview for you beautiful people and this time around the two
movies I am gonna preview are Quarantine and the late great Isaac Hayes and Bernie Mac's last movie Soul Men. These two films are slated for late autumn release dates but they seem interesting enough for such an early review.
Quarantine stars Jennifer Carpenter(White Chicks) as a television reporter who with her cameraman played by Steve Harris(Diary Of A Mad Black Woman) are
assigned to spend the night shift with a Los Angeles
Fire Station. After a 911 call takes them to an apartment
building, they find the police already on the scene in response to screams coming from one of the apartments. They
soon learn that a woman living in the building has been infected by
something unknown. After a few of the residents are viciously attacked,
they try to escape with the news crew, only to find that the CDC
has quarantined the building. Internet, television and cell
phone access have been cut-off, and no information is being relayed to those locked inside. When the quarantine is finally
lifted, the only evidence of what took place is the news crews
videotape.
Reasons why you should see this movie: 1. All you Dexter fans get a chance to see Jennifer Carpenter in her first starring role. 2. Officially the first really scary looking film I've previewed or wanted to see since Scream. 3. For all you ladies out there who love Columbus Short, yeah the guy from This Christmas and Stomp The Yard, you'll have your chance to see him play a man in uniform once again. 4. If you were a fan of Cloverfield, then your gonna love the style of this movie.
Next up is a movie which includes two amazing men who recently passed away, so this preview is in their honor. Soul Men starring Samuel L. Jackson(Black Snake Moan), Bernie Mac(Transformers), and Isaac Hayes(South Park),
is about two estranged soul singing legends played by Mac and Jackson,
who haven't spoken to each other for over twenty years, come together
to do a reunion performance at the Apollo Theater to honor their
recently deceased band leader. In this movie Isaac Hayes will be making
an appearance playing himself.
Reasons why you should see this movie: 1. The final performances of Mac and Hayes. 2. Bernie Mac and Samuel L. Jackson together onscreen, one word LMFAO!
So in closing these movies have been selected for you by me to check out and hopefully enjoy. That's my segment, this is
Weirdest Robkast and I'm out. Peace!!!!!!
