08-21-2008 by Weirdest Robkast Hey world it's Weirdest Robkast back again and this week I'll be reviewing Mirrors and Tropic Thunder.
I was in Hartford, Ct when I attended these showings and that was a bit
of an experience. First off, the theater I went to was called an
Odyssey Auditorium. It was similar to our Imax except it wasn't as
tall. (About 1 story shorter). Second, the nachos were almost a full
course meal, it consisted of giant tortilla chips, sour cream, jalapeno
peppers, and chili beans. I was eating it for about 20 minutes
into the movie. Lol. Finally, it was the fifth movie theater I've been
to outside of New York.(I'm trying to visit a theater in each state I
travel to)
Anyway Mirrors is a horror
film starring Keifer Sutherland(24) and Paula Patton(Deja Vu), and its
about a night security guard played by Sutherland, who patrols an
abandoned Department store, which burned down fifty years ago, except
the mirrors in this department store never burned with it. They are
haunted with the spirits of the people who died in the building when
the fire was taking place. Throughout the movie Sutherland tries his
best not to let these spirits destroy him and his family, his estranged
wife played by Patton and there interracial kids. The spirits within
these indestructible mirrors have huge abilities and if you go and see
this movie, prepare for a couple of gore filled sequences.
Overall
I enjoyed this movie up until the last 15 minutes then this shit got
outta hand. Sutherland and Patton fans may be a little disappointed
with their acting and the movie's ending.
Tropic Thunder, OH MY
GOD!!!!!!!!!!!. This movie was funny as all hell. Stiller, Black, and
Downey Jr., for anyone who read my preview should already know what
this movie was about, but if you didn't its a comedy based on a crew of
actors sent to Vietnam to film a war movie which goes awry and they get
caught up in a real war between the natives. Initially before I saw the
movie I thought it might be comedy of the year, but I would rank this
just a notch below StepBrothers. Anyway, Thunder
had comedy, action, explosions, crude humor, drugs, and tons of high
profile celebrity cameos. Besides the main three this movie had one of
the best performances delivered by Tom Cruise, that I've ever seen him
give on screen. Yes I said Tom Cruise is in Tropic Thunder and so is Matthew McConaughey, for all you ladies out there.
The performances were all great, every cameo by every actor was exceptionally funny.
I
definitely recommend this movie for anyone over the age of 14. This was
the second best comedy of the year, hands down without a doubt. I
guarantee that you'll bust a gut laughing from the performances of Jack
Black, Robert Downey Jr, and the funniest actor in the movie Tom Cruise.
Once
again this is another movie review from your pal Weirdest Robkast. I
hope this has helped you in your future endeavors. Peace!!!!!!
