12-02-2009 LoSo As of Monday, December 7th,
Allen Iverson will be reunited with the team that selected him as the number
one pick in the 1996 NBA draft; a team where he excelled with for 10 years,
the Philadelphia 76ers. Alongside the 76ers, Allen Iverson went to earn prestigious
recognitions: Rookie of the year, MVP, 2 All Star MVPs, and led the league in
scoring for 4 years. As an 80’s baby, I grew up watching neither Larry Bird nor
Magic Johnson; on the other hand, I was lucky enough to watch Michael Jordan,
the greatest player of all time, get crossed up by a street-ball-hero
whose sneakers I wore, THE ANSWER. This is not meant to be an editorial
piece or an article of a biased nature. However, this Monday, Allen Iverson
will be squaring off to play the Denver Nuggets, an organization that two years
ago traded him for Chauncey Billups-- and I sense I am not alone when cheering
for this future hall-of-famer to put back on those Philadelphia colors and Shake.And.Bake.
