Originating as a graffiti artist Jean-Michel Basquiat was an
inspirational artist during the nineteen eighties. This Brooklyn
native's paintings were classified as part of the neo-expressionist
movement and made heavy use of words in his paintings. A heavy drug
addiction cut his life short and he died at age 27 by overdose.
Reebok has resurrected the art of Basquiat and pulled it off the wall
and canvas and put it on the uppers of a new set of Top Down sneakers.
One shoe is based on the popular “Quality Meats for the Public” (1982)
and the other on “Mitchell Crew” (1983), both with leather accents.
