Reviews: Wale- Attention Deficit
Wale- Attention Deficit
11-21-2009 Weirdest Robkast
Hello and welcome to this music review for Wale's: Attention Deficit. This is the first album from the Washington D.C. born rapper, who rose to fame from his 5 mixtapes released over the past 3 years. Wale introduces an alternative style of rap, with influences of hip hop and go-go(popular club style music played in the Maryland, D.C., & Virginia area).

Attention Deficit is packed with cameos from an array of artists, such as Bun- B, Gucci Mane, Jazmine Sullivan, Chrisette Michele, Lady Gaga, K'naan, Melanie Fiona, and Marsha Ambrosius of Floetry. With production from some of the music industries known names like Mark Ronson, Cool & Dre, The Neptunes, and DJ Green Lantern. For true hip hop fans this album is somewhat a breath of fresh air, due to the lack of albums coming out over the last 2-3 months.

There are some stand out tracks with catchy lyrical content, one of those tracks happens to be one of my personal favs like "Triumph" and with lyrics like this who can go wrong. "25, 25, 25, can I get 30, My side jumps is fat, and my freak jumps is puurrddyyy, why?, cause I Mac' like Beeerrrnnniiieee, and she swallow everything like Kiiirrbbbyyy, not Puckett, but I hit, then I duck a bitch, an older woman, put a ni@@a on they bucket list, me against you, the movie of the year, cause you slum dogg, and I'm the millionaire". There is also the "Chillen" featuring Lady Gaga which is very radio friend yet cool, "I got Phil Knight talkin about "How you got Them? " Let's talk about the cars ya'll got, you say you got alotta whips, well I got A LOT, I got the right to be cocky, get so much cut disc jockeys jock me, you ni@@as mad cause you not me, I remain a GIANT while you're Jeremy Shockey".

As you can see Wale is trying to re-ignite lyrical content along with funny wit back into the industry. That which has been lacking such creativity for a while now. My overall evaluation of the album is 4 outta 5, entertaining and fun without compromising hip hop integrity.
